Vox Korean Vintage Reissue Guitars

2020-Present
In and around 2020, Vox stopped production of the Series 55 and 77, and switch gears with a 'reissue' of the Vox Bobcat. A curious choice for a couple of reasons: the original Bobcat was certainly not a very popular model and was 'unknown' to most, the reissue wasn't really a reissue but a 'reimagined' Bobcat - it had a set neck vs the original's bolt on neck, and it was Korean-made, but with a relatively high price, and the market is 'flooded' with ES-335-style guitars. You would think reissues of the teardrop or phantom would fair better... Regardless , the modern Bobcat is a nice guitar.
The Bobcat came in a couple of different versions:
the S66 - 3 single coils - this was the version that most closely resembled the original Bobcat from the '60s. Retail on this was $1,850 USD (2021)
the S66 Bigsby - adds a Bigsby B70 vibrato. This model also has 'blueish/turquoise' inlays - it's a more modern looking Bobcat. Retail was $2139 USD (2021)
the V90 - 2 Vox V-90 pickups, which are ascetically like a P90 pickup. Retail was $1850 USD (2021)
the V90 Bigsby - adds the Bigsby B70. Retail was $2139 USD (2021)
The Bobcats were available in 3-Tone Sunburst, Cherry Red, Black, Italian Green, Sapphire Blue, though I don't recall ever seeing a green one...
The Bobcat Bigsbys were available in Sapphire Blue & Jet Black.
Playability on these guitars is excellent and similar to the Series 55/77 guitars, most likely they are made in the same factory in Korea.
