The Blueburst finish is one of Rickenbacker's most vibrant and visually striking color options. Known for its stunning gradient effect, Blueburst transitions from a deep, rich blue at the edges to a lighter, semi-transparent sliver-blue hue in the center. This eye-catching finish was first introduced in 2005 as a limited edition as a 'Color of the Year', making it a relatively rare and highly sought-after option among musicians and collectors.
Some Bluebursts finished in 2006 are referred to as "Purpleburst', due to a color mixing error - they have a more pronouced purple hue at the edges.

This acoustic was made for Mary Chapin Carpenter and given to her as a give, along with a matching 620/12 BBR.
Note that this 2001 year of manufacture was a few years before the BBR color was available in the market as a "Color of the year".
