Rickenbacker Blueburst

Blueburst is one of Rickenbacker’s most vibrant modern finishes. Its dramatic burst fades from deep blue edges to a lighter, translucent silver-blue center, creating a striking contrast across the instrument’s maple body. The finish was introduced in 2005 as a limited “Color of the Year”, making original examples relatively uncommon compared to standard Rickenbacker finishes. A small number of instruments produced in 2006 developed a stronger purple tone at the edges due to a paint mixing variation. These are often informally referred to by collectors as “Purpleburst.”
