Rickenbacker Burgundyglo
Burgundyglo is a deep wine-red finish that stands apart from Rickenbacker’s traditional color palette. Rich and glossy, the color gives instruments a warm, dramatic look—especially on bound models where the dark red body contrasts sharply with the cream binding. Unlike standard finishes such as Fireglo or Jetglo, Burgundyglo was never consistently available across the entire catalog. It appeared intermittently from the late 1960s through the 1980s, often on a limited range of models, which kept production numbers relatively low. The finish briefly returned in the early 2000s due to renewed interest from players and collectors. Across different production periods the tone can vary slightly, with some examples leaning toward purple while others remain a deeper red.
