The White finish is one of Rickenbacker's most striking and visually captivating color options. Known for its clean, bright appearance, the White finish has been a favorite among musicians and collectors for its bold and timeless look. This finish adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to Rickenbacker's iconic instruments.
Rickenbacker first introduced the White finish in the mid-1970s, and it was offered until the late 1980s. This finish made a notable return in the 1990s for limited runs due to popular demand (often called Snowglo). The bright, pristine white color gave Rickenbacker instruments a distinctive and modern look that stood out on stage and in collections.
Most, but not all, vintage White finishes have yellowed - either to a mild cream, or to a 'dirty yellow'. Unfortunately, the yellowing is generally uneven, resulting in something that has limited appeal. The modern Snowglo finsihed doen't exhibit this.
August, '93.
Made for Gerry Beckley from the band America. This has a wide-neck, full-width inlays, 24 frets, vintage hardware, and checked-binding. A weird combo of features for the tme. It aslo came with a set of gold guards, but I think the white on white looks best.
